Making Decisions: Find Clarity Amidst Uncertainty

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Sometimes, we agonizingly draw out our pros vs. cons thinking until we're so tired of being 'on the fence' that we finally throw up our arms from the exhaustion of it all and fall off the fence with abandon.

There's no need for that though.

When we get out of our head and tune in to how we feel about something, clarity is born.

For example...

are we trying to escape something we fear, or do we feel we're moving toward something we want (even though it might be challenging)?

We want to be making decisions from a higher vibration, a vibration of clarity, if not certainty.

But how do we move up the scale into such vibrations?

This script might help.

Tune into the angst you feel about a decision you're contemplating.

Where does that put you on the energy scale? (see scale below)

(If this question doesn't make sense, check out this video.)

Let's tap ...

Take a deep breath and Tap as follows:

Tap on the side of your hand:

I don't know what to do.

I really don't know what to do.

Even though I don't know what to do, I'm going to Tap for a few minutes and see if Tapping might help.

Eyebrow: I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Side of the eye: It feels like I've looked at this from every angle.

Under the eye:  I've done my research.

Under the nose: I've asked for help.

Under mouth:  And still, I don't feel good about making a decision one way or another.

Collarbone: I acknowledge my circumstances and how I feel.

Under the arm: Part of me is tired of focusing on this.

Top of the head: I want to move past this decision and get on with things.

Eyebrow: But I don't want to make a bad decision.

Side of the eye: There's just no way of knowing now how things will turn out.

Under the eye: This is very stressful.

Under the nose: I would love to think about something else.

Under the mouth: What if I did think about something else? ...

Collarbone: I give myself permission to take a decision-focusing vacation.

Under the arm: I choose for a minute to think about something else.

Top of head: Something I enjoy doing. (close your eyes and feel what it feels like to do something you enjoy until you truly feel the enjoyment of it)

Eyebrow: That feels good.

Side of the eye: I like feeling good.

Under the eye: I give myself permission to feel good even though I have this decision to make.

Under the nose: I can feel so good, in fact, that I can see things from a new perspective.

Under the mouth: I remember who I am.

Collarbone: And I choose to honor what's important to me.

Under the arm: I allow myself to see things in a way I didn't before.

Top of head: I choose to act from a place of love, both for myself and others.

Eyebrow: I am grateful for my ability to think.

Side of the eye: I'm grateful I have options.

Under the eye: I wonder how I would feel making this decision one way versus another.

Under the nose: In this moment, how does YES feel?

Under the mouth: Expansive? Contracted?

Collarbone: Neutral?

Under the arm: How does NO feel?

Top of head: Expansive? Contracted?

Eyebrow: Neutral?

Side of the eye: Even though I don't know how things will unfold after I make my decision,

Under the eye: I trust I'll handle it.

Under the nose: I can look forward to what's next.

Under the mouth: There is an adventure before me.

Collarbone: There is a life to be lived.

Under the arm: I'm going to take it one moment at a time; allowing enthusiasm, curiosity, peace, and gratitude simultaneously.

Take a deep breath.

Where are you on the scale right now?

Do you have more clarity regarding your decision?

If you're not feeling higher on the scale, put your hands on your heart center and tune in again to what it feels like to experience something you enjoy. Really "go there". (It can help to envision a place you like to be, doing an activity you enjoy, or what it's like to be with someone you love.) Take a minute or two to remember what feeling good feels like. Then, tap through the script again.
