Tired of getting in your own way?
Sometimes we do everything we've been taught to do to improve ourselves and get what we want out of life only to find that after a while, our efforts aren't really helping anymore.
If all of your striving and personal-improving have come to feel more like a task than an effortless boost, this script is for you.
Let's Tap ...

How are you feeling about your current progress in life right now? Rate your feeling on the scale below. (If this doesn't make sense, check out this video.)
Let's tap ...
Take a deep breath and Tap as follows:
Side of hand:
I guess it's true. Life is hard and you have to work hard to enjoy a good life.
Even though this feels true right now, I wonder if it maybe it isn't true.
I have enjoyed some good times that were unrelated to "hard work".
I'm confused. I'm frustrated, and I want to have this figured out already.
Apparently, I'm still learning. I choose to be patient with myself as I continue to learn and I choose to enjoy life as much as possible along the way.
Eyebrow: But I'm tired of pushing myself.
Side of the eye: I'm tired of disciplining myself to do all.the.things all.the.time.
Under the eye: I'm not sure they're even working.
Under the nose: Some of things I'm doing feel like a burden.
Under mouth: They are weighing me down.
Collarbone: When do I get to enjoy life?
Thumb: It feels like I've done everything 'right',
Index finger: but things are just not working out.
Middle finger: Whose rules am I following anyway?
Ring finger: Why did I assume they're a good fit for me?
Little finger: I wonder what would happen if I only did things that felt good to me...
Side of hand: If I explored which methods work for me and which don't...
Top of head: without judgement.
Eyebrow: This could have me doing things very differently.
Side of the eye: This could have me getting to know myself better than ever.
Under the eye: This could be enjoyable.
Under the nose: Hold on. Is this even okay?
Under the mouth: It feels risky.
Collarbone: Me be the judge of what does and does not work for me?
Thumb: I must be out of my mind!
Index finger: Or not.
Middle finger: Would it truly be okay for me to try new ways of doing things?
Ring finger: To create new ways of doing things?
Little finger: I'm the only me there's ever been.
Side of hand: It's very likely there's a recipe for life that works especially well for me.
Top of head: It's also very likely that I'm the one who will discover it.
Eyebrow: I've learned a lot during my lifetime.
Side of the eye: I actually already know quite a lot about what works for me and what doesn't.
Under the eye: I know quite a bit about what I like and what I don't like.
Under the nose: This is where I choose to begin.
Under the mouth: I choose to be optimistically curious as I embark on this endeavor.
Collarbone: This endeavor to get to know myself better ... without judgement.
Thumb: I allow myself to explore new ideas, new places, and get to know new people.
Index finger: I choose to try new things, and do old things in new ways.
Middle finger: Brain, it's time to wake up!
Ring finger: Heart, it's time to love again!
Little finger: It's okay to have fun.
Side of hand: It's okay to measure success and progress in new ways.
Top of head: I choose to relish breathing, seeing, and connecting.
Collarbone: I release old obstacles and embrace my next adventure.
Take a deep breath.
Where are you at on the scale now?
Go forth inspired and empowered. Every breath is a new beginning.
