Depression can run deep. It can come and go in short periods of time or last months, even years.
I fully understand that one simple Tapping script is not going to ricochet anyone out of depression but it can be a beginning. It can set the stage for hope and be a reminder that what we feel is energy (nothing to fear) and that what we focus on matters.
If you're experiencing depression, I encourage you to seek help. Reach out to a friend or professional, even if you all you can think to say is, "I'm depressed and I don't know what to do."
Tapping can help shift how you feel at a deeply profound and lasting level. If you want support with Tapping, contact me.

Where are you at on the scale? (see scale below)
If this question doesn't make sense, check out this video.
Let's tap ...
Take a deep breath and Tap as follows:
Side of hand:
I feel so depressed and discouraged Tapping feels hard; it takes too much effort.
Even though it takes effort, I'm going to Tap and see if it will make a difference.
Even though I feel depressed and discouraged and my life feels out of my control, I choose to be present while I Tap. I allow myself to BE.
Even though I feel depressed and discouraged it's okay for me to just BE for a few minutes while I tap. I can just be here, tapping; letting emotions flow however they will.
Eyebrow: This is hard.
Side of the eye: Life is hard.
Under the eye: Or is it?
Under the nose: Depression is hard.
Under mouth: I'm so discouraged and unhappy I hardly know where to begin to get past this.
Collarbone: All this energy in my system.
Thumb: Energy.
Index finger: This energy.
Middle finger: Can it soften and flow?
Ring finger: Could I let it soften and flow?
Little finger: Will I let it soften and flow through and out of my system?
Side of hand: When?
Top of head: Now.
Eyebrow: This energy passing through.
Side of the eye: It doesn't need to stay.
Under the eye: There's no welcome mat in my system for depression.
Under the nose: I choose courage.
Under the mouth: I choose peace.
Collarbone: Even though I don't know what's next, I choose to explore feeling better with patience and curiosity.
Thumb: I allow myself to consider what I might change...
Index finger: who I might reach out to for help.
Middle finger: Right now, I hold my head up; I look about ...
Ring finger: and I see what's around me.
Little finger: I can focus on this, my life and my surroundings,
Side of hand: or I can choose to focus on something else.
Top of head: Would that be okay?
Eyebrow: It feels like something is wrong with me and I need to figure it out.
Side of the eye: I feel like I need to be fixed.
Under the eye: I feel like I need to give this depression and discouragement all my attention.
Under the nose: I wonder what would happen if I let it soften and flow and think about something else entirely instead.
Under the mouth: What would I focus on?
Collarbone: I'm overwhelmed by these low feelings,
Thumb: they are consuming my thoughts; my life.
Index finger: Oh. They are consuming my thoughts.
Middle finger: And I forgot, I can choose what I think about.
Ring finger: It's hard to think about happier things right now though.
Little finger: Even if I could.
Side of hand: Maybe I can.
Top of head: I can.
Eyebrow: I can choose what I think about.
Side of the eye: Even if I'm not happy, I can think about happier things, even neutral things would be a step in a better direction.
Under the eye: Anything that isn't me. Something outside of myself.
Under the nose: Is there something I could do for someone else that would get me thinking about something else?
Under the mouth: Of course there is. And, if I can't think of something I can ask for help.
Collarbone: There's this energy in my system that feels locked-in. I allow it to soften and flow, and I choose to engage my mind in other endeavors while this energy moves through and out.
Take a deep breath.
